WHAT IS SKATESGIVING?
Put your bird in the oven and come skate for a great cause.
SkatesGiving is a drop in style skate on Thanksgiving morning used to raise funds for your local hockey association. Money is raised via sponsors, skate registration, merchandise and pie sales in order to direct funds to the local youth program. On Thanksgiving morning, we rent a few hours of ice for a non-competitive, fun and inclusive skate for everyone of all skill levels. Register today for the next SkatesGiving in your town!
All for a great cause
SkatesGiving Benefits the Community
Free youth hockey
Because of the high cost of hockey, we help facilitate more children playing a sport that they might not otherwise play, and provide them life skills that encourage leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, exercise, and strong relationships.
Scholarships
Scholarships allow access for more kids to play as they progress beyond the free Mites program.
Gear and Equipment
Hockey Equipment is expensive. Some funds are used to provide equipment for individual players. Some funds have been used to buy needed training equipment like goalie specific gear and extra nets to ensure there were enough goals on the ice.
Our misson
Get more kids to the rink. And keep them coming back.
By introducing more kids to hockey, SkatesGiving strengthens community ties, promotes excellent skills in our youth, and fosters exercise and good mental health at an early age .
